Kasumi practices a "new art form synthesizing film, sound and video in live performance."
Kasumi has collaborated Grandmaster Flash, DJ Spooky, and Modeselektor as well with the New York Philharmonic. Her work has also been played by The Cleveland Orchestra. She is an associate professor at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
