Born in Stamford, CT in 1979, Alex Golden is a New York based interdisciplinary artist who works in photography, video-installation, drawing, painting and print-making. Alex went to Wil-liams College where he majored in psychology and visual art. He spent a year at the Toronto School of art studying drawing and painting before moving to New York. Alex graduated with an MFA from Hunter College in 2009, where he began to make his film-like animations. He has shown his work in Toronto, Miami, New York, Berlin, and Chonqing and was included in the 20 Year Anniversary Show at Nicole Klagsbrun Gallery in Chelsea. He was presented twice as a promising emerging artist to Christie's Education New York, and was included in the pages of Io Donna's photo essay on New York artists. Most recently, Alex contributed a segment to the col-laborative film, The Filmballad of Mamadada which has been screened at festivals around the world, including CPH:DOX, IFF Rotterdam, and Indie Lisboa. Alex has lectured at Hunter Col-lege and Baruch College, and his work is in private collections around the US.
