Amy Franceschini

Biography

Amy Franceschini was born in 1970, and currently lives in California, where she is a visiting artist at the joint MA/MFA program between California College of the Arts and Stanford University. She received her MFA from Stanford University and her BFA from San Francisco State University. She founded the organization Futurefarmers, which is a group of artists who create works to address issues in society and the environment, in 1995. She co-founded the organization Free Soil, a group of artists who also address society, politics, and the environment in their work, in 2004. She has won several awards, including the Artadia Award, the Cultural Innovation Award, and the Creative Capital Award. In 2010, she was named a Guggenheim fellow. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally.
