From her studio in the ArtCraft Building on Superior Ave., Barbara Chira maintains a consistent local/regional exhibition record. A recent solo show (Gallery West/Cuyahoga Community College) was a 5' x 100' drawing completed in the gallery during the exhibition, and documenting her corresponding experiences placing "free" paintings at bus stops in Cleveland. Most recently, Chira created light-sculpture storefront installations at Dragonfly Restaurant in Ohio City, for the Brite Winter Festival. Born in 1957, Chira is a graduate of Ursuline College ('03), begins graduate studies in April, is a full-time instructor at The Cleveland Institute of Art, and resides with her husband in Old Brooklyn.
