Corrie Slawson
Corrie Slawson, a long-time Clevelander, is interested in solitary moments of transit through vacant spaces. Whether by car, by bus, or by foot, she explores often-overlooked locales and the cast-off litter and remnants that grow and accumulate within these areas.
Biography
Slawson received a BFA in painting at Parsons School of Design, New York, NY (1997) and an MFA in Painting at Kent State University, Kent, OH (2006). Her work has been exhibited at Zygote Press, Cleveland; The Beck Center for the Arts, Cleveland; Dangenart Gallery, Nashville, TN; Cleveland Public Art, Cleveland; Cleveland Environmental Center, Cleveland; and Parsons School of Design, New York, NY. Slawson also exhibited her work in Street Repairs (2006) at SPACES. In 2006, her portfolio was featured in Angle: A Journal of Arts & Culture (Volume 3, Issue 25).
