Jeremy Brustein grew up in the Bronx. He entered KSU in 1972 majoring in fine arts, though he dropped out at the end of his sophomore year becoming immersed in the radical political movements of the day. Throughout the 70's he created revolutionary political posters and logos, including national actions and organizations. He has been employed at University Hospitals for over 30 years as a pharmacy technician during which time he developed his skills as a portrait painter to supplement his income. He has shown work at Gallery West, the Loop, and the Bernhardt Gallery in Michigan. Recently he has been experimenting with mixed media that combines portrait painting with the abstract look found on urban walls created by the torn and weathered layers of posters and graffiti.
