Thu Tran
Biography
Thu Tran was born in 1981 and is from Cleveland, Ohio. She currently lives in Brooklyn, New York. She creates drawings, sculptures, videos, and food. She received her BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2005, and attended a workshop about sculpting hot glass at the Penland School of Crafts. In 2005, she was a recipient of the 3rd Agnes Gund Traveling Scholarship at the Cleveland Institute of Art. She won the Midwestern Voices and Visions Award from the Alliance of Artist Communities in 2006. In 2007, she did a six week residency at an art farm in Marquette, Nebraska. She won the New York Television Festival "Out of the Box Award" in 2008.
