Speed Studio Visits

8x8x8

Continuing our effort to increase critical dialogue centered around the visual arts in Cleveland, SPACES will host 8x8x8, a new event that challenges artists in our region to hone their skills of discussing their work with curators and critics. We will turn the SPACES gallery into a round-robin for 8 artists to interact in quick, 8-minute succession with 8 art professionals.

At the start of each 8 minute pairing, the artist will give an elevator pitch about their work for the first 5 minutes, and then the art professional will give 3 minutes of feedback, follow-up, and/or inquiries to the artist. Once the whistle blows, the artists move to the next art pro and begin the pitch again. Artists are welcome to register on a first-come-first-served basis, but must be current Season Pass holders. Request registration eligibility for this event here: cvassallo@SPACESgallery.org

SPACES will simultaneously host an "open studios" section where artists can lay out their work and speak about it with each other and members of the public. If you would like to participate in the open studio section, please email cvassallo@SPACESgallery.org.

This event is free and open to the public. Come join us!
