As a long time resident of the United States of America but a Japanese citizen, Yoko Inoue has spent a long time discovering how the post-war period transformed her native country and the impact that this has had on The USA. Much of Yoko's work grapples with this duality of cross-cultural melding. Her work takes the form of performance and multi-media. Her background in Ceramics often leads to work that is influenced by the history of ceramics.
In this lecture, Yoko will talk about the arc of her career and the motivations for her work.
