Write, Rinse, Repeat
City Repair's Artivism Week
Saturday, September 27, 2014, 10:00AM - 2:00PM
What does a community hope to do when its citizens come together? How are those thoughts voiced and projected? Write, Rinse, Repeat makes the aspirations and identity of a neighborhood's residents visible and contagious with temporary text-based interventions throughout Cleveland.
SPACES is pleased to partner with Bridging the Tracks (BTT) for this first presentation of Write, Rinse, Repeat during City Repair's Artivism Week. BTT is a group of neighbors working together to connect community and reclaim public space in the Larchmere-Buckeye-Shaker area. The group held two poetry workshops, led by a neighborhood poet, to collectively create a haiku that will be placed on the frieze above the vacant Moreland Theater.
Please join us for the unveiling of the haiku on Saturday, September 27th, 10 am – 2 pm, and the open mic after-party the next day, Sunday, September 28th, 3 pm – 5 pm.
Moreland Theater, 11820 Buckeye Road, Cleveland OH 44120
SPACES staff would like to thank SPACES board member Greg Nosan, former SPACES board member Katherine Bulava, former Executive Director Christopher Lynn, and BTT members Susan Rozman and Kirby Broadnax for their work to make this project happen.
