The Persistence of Conscience

Lillian Tyrell, Textiles and Drawings, 1975-2005

Lilian Tyrrell (Ravenna, OH)

Part of R&D

Lilian has created two extraordinary bodies of work: a series of landscapes, both intimate and farseeing, that define boundaries and possibilities of place in Ohio; and a series of "Disaster Blankets" that unsettle our notions of comfort and that assert our collective culpability. The exhibition examines the influences and evolving style in Tyrell's major works and demonstrates the artist's unique contribution to the art of weaving.

Curated by William Busta.
