Hristina Ivanoska was born in Skopje, Macedonia, in 1974. She received her BFA from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje in 1997 and participated in several residency programs at the Cleveland Institute of Art, Stiftung Künstlerhaus Boswil and others. She has been the recipient of several awards and grants, including the STEP beyond Mobility Grant from the European Cultural Foundation, two grants from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Macedonia, and the Grand Prix award at the 1st Biennial of Young Artists in Gevgelija, Macedonia. Her work has been exhibited both in the United States and in Europe.
Ivanoska is building her artistic practice by finding ways of individual action against the established roles and norms, defined by the conventional social and political systems. Her manner of work includes research, perception and interactive action. Since 2002 Ivanoska is founder and program adviser of artists-run-space Press To Exit Project Space.
