Lisa Norton earned her BFA from Cleveland Institute of Art (1985) and MFA degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art (1987). In 2011, she participated in "Design Action, Leadership & the Future", a public educational event designed to cultivate nascent yet emerging approaches to design futures far beyond and critical of what we currently term 'sustainability.' She is a professor at The School of Art Institute of Chicago and a consultant for arts educational institutions regarding inclusivity and sustainability.
My appreciation for the prosaic yet charged nature of crafted objects led me, via human interaction, into design. In the broadest sense, my work centers on how and why change happens.
