Briefing on Federal & State Funding

Arts and Culture Roundtable & Letter Writing Campaign

Thursday, April 13, 2017, 3:30PM - 5:00PM

The Community Partnership for Arts and Culture (CPAC) presents a briefing and letter-writing event, at SPACES, about state and federal funding for arts and culture, what it means for area organizations, and how we can work as a force to influence the funding environment.

President Trump's proposed elimination of a number of federal arts- and culture- related agencies would significantly impact nonprofits in Northeast Ohio. The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) all provide support directly and indirectly to area organizations.

Fresh back from a visit to Washington, DC, Ohio Citizens for the Arts Executive Director Bill Behrendt will brief the community on the state of federal funding. He will also provide an overview of the state arts funding climate. Following Behrendt's remarks, audience members can participate in a letter writing event to advocate on behalf of federal and state funding for arts and culture.

This event is FREE + open to the public, and hosted by SPACES.
