Hooping in the Galleries

Join hoopist Amy Butler for this fun hour long fitness class in the galleries at SPACES. Registration is only $15. Bring your own hoop or purchase one the day of the class.

Instructor Amy Butler has been hula hooping for 7 years. After enjoying the hooby for a little bit, she started making hula hoops to share the love with others. That quickly turned into teaching beginner hula hoop lessons, which she has been doing for over 6 years. She hosts wellness workshops in the workplace, and has classes at local festivals and farmers markets. The hula hoop can be used as a basic tool for cardio exercise, or for flowing dance moves within the hula hoop, Amy has also combined some stretching with the hula hoop into class.
Hula hooping can burn up to 600 calories an hour and it is fun!!! Hooping can range from getting some exercise in front of the tv or dance moves can be combined. Some people hoop as a form of grounding or meditation. The hoop is also a great tool for stretching and pilates, or yoga moves.
