Questions of Safety Answered by Children of Color

Session #1

Saturday, July 28, 2018, 12:00PM - 1:00PM

QUESTIONS OF SAFETY ANSWERED BY CHILDREN OF COLOR
This project asks: What represents safety for children of color in our community? Kids give responses by drawing "what makes them feel safe." Artist Megan Young and collaborators create 3D printed replicas of each drawing for participants to keep. These interactions encourage those in power to take a listening role while children engage their imagined futures.

3D PEN WORKSHOPS
Kids ages 6 years and up are invited to attend our free, 3D pen printing workshops (Approx. 50 min). Registration is encouraged as workshops have limited space. Participants are provided with materials and step-by-step instructions to create a simple creative item. Sample projects include: decorative eyeglasses, insects, sea creatures, or small buildings.

Spaces are limited, please RSVP here.
