"Liz Ensz explores America's role in international relations in the post 9-11 world in Does the Light of God Blind You or Lead the Way Home for You? Ensz's installation transforms politically charged images (weapons, gas pumps, hummers) into decorative floral motifs typical of Islamic decorative art. These repeated patterns symbolize the systems of conformity found within society.
Ensz received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2005 and has continued to show across the North Eastern states. "

Liz Ensz was born in Minnesota to a resourceful family of penny-savers, metal scrappers, and curators of cast-offs. She received her BFA in Fiber from the Maryland Institute College of Art, and her MFA in Fiber and Material Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work... go to artist page
